NCPDP D.0 POS Testing Information

Note: Testing is strictly for HIPAA compliance. Test files are not adjudicated and an 835 is not created. Pharmacies must contact their software vendor regarding NCPDP D.0 testing and implementation progress.

To begin D.0 POS testing, contact the EDI Help Desk by phone or email. The EDI Help Desk does not provide test packet information. You will need to provide billing provider and beneficiary identification numbers to be used in the test transactions.

After your test transaction information has been added to our test environment, you will be contacted by an EDI representative to coordinate testing. Always inform the EDI Help Desk before sending test transactions. This will ensure the test line is being monitored and any issue is addressed in a timely manner.

After successfully submitting compliant D.0 transactions in the testing environment, you can begin submitting transactions in production. Refer to the NCPDP Version D.0 Transactions Payer Sheets under the Companion Guides link below when building transactions.
